Events Booking (Coming Soon)
Danni Allman heads up our events team and you can contact her at events@hls-scouts.org.uk. Every event will have an individual leader in charge, this will be published alongside other important event information on this website.
We take safety extremely seriously and our event runs under the rules of the Scout Association, our adventurous activities are instructed by those with the relevant experience/qualifications and we have a full Event Plans and Risk Assessments in place. Copies of event management plans and risk assessments are available on request.
Individual events will outline specific payment deadlines ahead of events. Where possible, events will offer a staged payment programme in order to enable families to spread payments out.
Where a young person is unable to attend an event for which they have booked onto, a refund will be made available where it is possible to fill the space with another event participant. This is because it is usually necessary to pre-book places with activity companies. In some cases at the discretion of the event organisers, a full refund may be made even if the space is not filled.
Please contact your scout group to discuss funding support for events.
For every event, we will collect permission to take photos of young people for events and photos will be used on social media, for the promotion of future events and on this website.
We'd love to welcome parents to our events, so please get in touch with events@hls-scouts.org.uk if you'd like to join in - if you're just looking to visit, we'll arrange a suitable slot that fits with the event programme.
Please get in touch with events@hls-scouts.org.uk to offer your support.
In order to make brilliant events happen, a team of volunteers works behind the scenes and during the events themselves. The team is made up of volunteers who've been in scouting since they were young, volunteers who've joined because they want to help make scouting happen for theiryoung person and those who have seen what we do and just fancied getting involved.
There are loads of reasons to get involved in our events:-
See your young person enjoying some of the brilliant opportunities we offer
Learn new skills for your self (and it looks great on a CV)
It's really rewarding to be part of the team who makes a successful event happen!
We need minibus drivers, photographers, organisers, marshalls, skills instructors, book keepers, webdesigners, first aiders, van drivers, fire starters, DJs, cooks, equipment maintainers to name but a few of our roles. We'll ensure that you're in a role at an event which is suitable for your event experience.
Each event will have it's own equipment list depending on the activities which are planned, however you can click here to see an equipment list for a standard camping event (as cubs, scouts and explorers would participate in).
It's worth noting that most outdoor shops give a 10% discount for members of scouts, you just need to take a neckerchief with you.
