About Houghton-Le-Spring Scouts
Houghton-le-Spring Scout District (part of Durham Scout County) provides support to seven scout groups and seven explorer scout units in the Hetton, Houghton and Washington areas of the City of Sunderland to deliver skills for life for their members. Scout Groups at Eppleton, Houghton, Herrington, Fatfield, North Washington, and Washington Village along with our Young Leaders Unit, host nearly 700 members.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians. We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.
