About BALTIC Zip Wire 2014

The BALTIC Zip Wire event is a fantastic fundraising opportunity for scout groups to raise vital funds and it's a huge adventure for those taking part.

Date: Saturday 5th July
Location: BALTIC Flour Mill, Gateshead
Event Organisers: Zip Slides UK
Who Can Take Part?: Any members or supporters brave enough to take on the challenge. Participants must be reasonably fit and the event has a strict weight limit of between 6 and 17.5 stone.

How to Book: Groups can request places by emailing zipwire@hls-scouts.org.uk.
How It Works
  1. The district has purchased 15 places which are available to groups on a first come, first served basis. Groups don't need confirmed participants to buy a place.
  2. Please confirm the number of event place you wish to purchase. The cost of £45 each will be charged back to groups.
  3. HLS scouts will make standard event info available to participants including sponsor forms, medical forms and event timing info. All documents will be added to our participants page and participants can be registered here to receive info via email.
  4. Groups collect sponsorship from their participants after the event, on average, participants raise around £150 each.
Maximise Your Fundraising
  1. We suggest that you ask participants to raise a minimum of £100 for the group and that you ask for a small returnable deposit to guarentee the place.
  2. Places could be offered as an unusual Christmas present at a premium price of £120.
  3. Setting up an online giving page (we recommend BT Mydonate) enables participants to reach family members who they do not see regularly.
  4. Could you raise more money doing the zip wire in fancy dress?
