Shiver Me Timbers: District Cub Camp Goes Pirate

Cubs jumped aboard the pirate ship and the captain said to them...

Ahoy me hearties, at this weekend's Houghton-Le-Spring District Cub camp, cubs were welcomed aboard for a hectic weekend of swashbuckling activities. Cubs rotated through bases across the weekend included finding the treasure on the camp site, setting up camp on a deserted island, making a pirate hat, building a ship and of course walking the plank.

The weekend ended with cubs raising the sails on their ships and sailing down the river avoiding the cannon balls (waterbombs) launched from the land. Cooling off in the river proved to be the perfect activity on a very warm July Sunday morning. Cubs dried off and fed, everyone headed home totally exhausted by the manic weekend!

The weekend was made possible by a small army of leaders who gave their time and energy to organising and running activities, cleaning, catering and pitching tents. Many thanks to all those who made the weekend so special!
