On 15th December, 110 excited beaver and cub scouts will set off by coach to Durham's Gala Theatre to see Sleeping Beauty, the season's pantomime. Our young people will join 400 others from Durham Scout County at a special scout performance.

Now an annual event, the pantomime has become increasingly popular among young members and their families.

"Pantomime is a fun way of us building in performing arts into our programme," said District Beaver Scout Leader, Karen Turnbull, "bringing together adult volunteers young members and importantly families'.

With over 70 tickets preordered by colonies in the district, its looks like our 110 tickets will run out soon, so please book quickly!

Beaver Scouts in Houghton-le-Spring enjoy a varied and balanced programme. Events such as the pantomime with other young people reinforce the message that scouts are members of a large 'family' of others who share similar interests and values.
